Photos of various cats that are or have been a part of my life. Well, I love cats. Sorry for that ;) Shooting cats is very therapeutic and relaxing. You just have to have time. And crawl a bit on the floor ;)
"Marras" is a Finnish word referring to various phenomena of death. Marraskuu is November in Finnish; the month of death, dying. The etymology of the word lies, according to Wikipedia, in the Proto-Indo-European "martas" where it ended up in Latin (mori - to die, mors - death etc.) and on to English, French and Spanish.
For me, the month marraskuu/November is a transition between fall and winter. Nothing happens, it's mostly grey and dull. Some snow may fall, but it always melts away quickly.
Laura is one of my dearest friends. She is empathetic, good-hearted, kind, strong, intelligent and fun. I gave her a shooting as a birthday present. Here are some results. Isn't she beautiful?! :)
I decided to start a new blog to show my other photographic work.
In my first post you will see some portraits of a little sweetheart called Iiris. She's the daughter of a friend couple of mine. The shooting took place in the Kaisaniemi botanical garden in Helsinki, 23.6.09. The time for the shooting was not the best possible, it was from 13:oo onwards and the light was pretty harsh. I found a nice location under a huge tree but still the light was too tough in some point. But yeah, it was a fun and relaxing shooting with lovely people :)
